Director KPMG Alastair has over 25 years’ experience in strategy, development and economic analysis in the sport and leisure business; much of this work has been in the development and operation of sports assets. For the last three and half years, Alastair has been the lead adviser on Kai Tak Sports Park (Hong Kong) which is being implemented by the Government of Hong Kong . CEO Mailman Group 邮人集团 Australian born, Andrew is the founder & CEO of Mailman. An awarding winning sports digital agency and technology group. Since acquiring Mailman in 2007, then an outdoor media business, Andrew has since transformed the business to become the world’s leading sports digital agency with offices in China, UK and the USA. His company drives the brand forward for global sports IP including Manchester United, UFC, NHL, FIFA and Kobe Bryant to name a few. The group has raised over $25m from local Chinese investors such as Yao Capital, Kaixin Capital and WeCapital. Andrew has appeared across Bloomberg, Fox, Fast Company and Forbes and is widely recognised as a pioneer in the sports and digital industries in China. Senior Director, Global and Corporate Strategy PGA of America Arjun H. Chowdri is currently the Senior Director of Global & Corporate Strategy for the PGA of America where he is responsible for the strategic planning process across the Association, cross-functional programming, research and global initiatives. Prior to this role Arjun led the Marketing & Communications Department for the PGA of America including creative, PR, digital, production and communications across all of the association’s initiatives and events. After completing his undergraduate at the University of Chicago and MBA at the University of Oregon, Arjun started his career in the sponsorship consulting representing such Fortune 500 companies as Visa, ConAgra Foods, and PepsiCo. Arjun then moved to India taking on a role as the GM of New Business for DNA Entertainment LTD. While there his efforts focused on the event company’s support of the newly launched Indian Premier League, which included managing the Bangalore franchise event operations, the opening and closing ceremonies for the league, and the ticket sales and operations for the franchises through a joint venture TicketPro. Upon his return from India and prior to joining the PGA, he took on a role at Glaceau which was then a newly acquired division of Coca-Cola where he led the sports marketing and commercial retail planning efforts behind brands such as POWERADE, vitaminwater, and NOS Energy. She also supports AIA’s markets other key events including The Music Run, AIA Carnival in Hong Kong and AIA Vitality Park at the Hong Kong Observation Wheel. Catherine has over 18 years’ experience in Asia Pacific. Previously she worked with sports agencies World Sport Group and Brand Rapport; on corporate side with UBS and DFS (LVMH Group), where she was global head of Internal Communications. Founder & CEO Mass Participation Asia Chris is an author, highly sought after international speaker, high impact consultant and Founder and CEO of Mass Participation Asia. With over 30 years of industry experience, Chris has impacted millions of people by delivering some of the largest mass participation sports events across three continents. He was also the Road Events Supervisor for the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Having managed the impact of “disasters” such as extreme weather, political demonstration and a highway collapse as well as the deaths of a Prime Minister, a King and participants, Chris translates his invaluable lessons to help others achieve personal and business success. Vice President, Head of Marketing, Greater China 大中华区市场部总经理 Visa Danielle Jin joined Visa in May 2016 as Head of Marketing for Greater China, and is responsible for leading the Greater China marketing team to build a world-class marketing function, developing and executing a marketing strategy designed to create a successful challenger brand domestically in the face of market opening, while at the same time showcasing Visa’s global strength. Danielle is a seasoned marketer and strategist with 20 years exeprience both in China and U.S., with a track record in turning around underperforming business, launching new innovation, and delivering ground-breaking marketing campaigns. Prior to Visa, Danielle was Vice President, Beverage Category for PepsiCo China. In this role she led the entire beverage category growth strategy, as well as the marketing & innovation agenda. Before PepsiCo, she was director of Marketing with Ghirardelli Chocolates in San Leandro, CA. Prior to that, she worked with McKinsey & Co in Atlanta, GA. Danielle started her career with Unilever. Danielle is a published writer with two books, numerous short stories and essays, and is a guest lecturer on strategy and Marketing topics. Wanda Sports China has broad operations in football, cycling, triathlon, badminton, and basketball, and activates around Wanda’s strategic partnerships with top international sports federations and organizations, such as FIFA, FIBA, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), as well as Badminton World Federations (BWF). Prior to joining Wanda Group, David worked for the National Basketball Association (NBA) in New York, Hong Kong and China, as Senior Vice President and Managing Director. In his earlier career, David was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch. He also worked at Deloitte Touche and Enron Corporation in Houston. Mr. Yang obtained his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, dual Master’s degrees with scholarship from the University of Texas at Austin, and Bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Nankai University. CEO NBA China As CEO of NBA China, Derek Chang oversees all of the league’s basketball andbusiness development in China, including television, digital media, marketing partnerships, social responsibility, events, communications and new initiatives. He will lead a staff based in the NBA's Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei and Hong Kong offices. Chang and his team work on continuing to expand the NBA’s presence in China and establishing it as the preeminent sports league in the country. Chang was appointed to the position in April 2018 by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver after leading and managing global media brands for more than 20 years. He was most recently the Head of International Lifestyle Channels at Scripps Networks Interactive based first in Singapore and then London, where he directed the international expansion of Scripps’ lifestyle brands. Prior to Scripps, Chang was Executive Vice President of Content Strategy and Development at DIRECTV, where he oversaw all content acquisition and production. He previously held senior executive positions with Charter Communications, the YES Network and TCI Communications. He also served on the board of directors of Starz after its public spin-off in 2013. Chang holds an MBA from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University. Chang and his wife, Katherine, have two daughters. Cage/Ring Announcer One Championship Dom Lau is an award winning television presenter based in Asia. Commonly referred to as “Asia’s Ryan Seacrest”, he is currently the cage and ring announcer for the largest martial arts organization and promotion in the world, ONE Championship. Lending his voice and charisma to the largest sports media property in the world, Dom regularly introduces some of the planet’s biggest names in martial arts including champions Brandon Vera, Ben Askren, Shinya Aoki, Angela Lee and more. In addition, Dom is the face and voice of Asia Pop 40 - the first regional weekly chart countdown radio show produced in Asia specifically for Asian radio. The show can be heard in multiple markets from China, SEA, Australia and New Zealand. Dom debuted on network television in 2005 where he spent five years with Fox International Channels, presenting on Channel [V], STAR World, and STAR Movies. In 2010 he moved on to host E! News Asia airing on the E! Entertainment channel, which is part of NBCUniversal. He then went to spend three years on Singtel’s broadcast platform, Mio TV, hosting their weekly English Premier League review show “Goals On Sunday”. His role includes overseeing all of SECA’s global initiatives including Formula E & the TECHEETAH Formula E team. Edmund currently represents CMC, the mother company of SECA as a representative on the board of the City Football Group. Other initiatives include the Portuguese Football club, Vizela FC. In 2017, Edmund founded the company Kosmos with FC Barcelona star, Gerard Pique & Hiroshima Mikitani, the Chairperson and CEO of Rakuten. Kosmos projects includes a 25 year partnership with the ITF (International Tennis Federation) to create the new Davis Cup, a World Cup formal which pits 18 of the top countries against one another; developing the Players Tribune Global site; and a production house – Kosmos Studios. Senior Director China Sports Media Eric Geng is the senior director of China Sports Media (CSM), which is the leading sports marketing agency in China. CSM currently owns the media rights of Chinese Super League, Chinese FA Cup and Team China. CSM also produces the signal for nearly 90% of professional football matches in China. Boosted by an experienced and connected sponsorship sales team, CSM helps Portuguese National Football Team and Argentinian National Football Team secured their first Chinese sponsor in history before 2018 FIFA World Cup respectively. Eric leads international business at CSM, ranging from media rights acquisition and distribution, sponsorship, sports investment to PR. Prior to CSM, Eric was the senior principle at China Media Capital (CMC), and played an important role in CMC’s investments in City Football Group (CFG), CAA, Formula E Holdings, Cubee and Haiqiu etc. Eric was also responsible for post-investment management of CSM, CFG, Cubee and Haiqiu during his CMC tenure. Eric has more than 10 years’ experience in Chinese sports industry, and holds a Master Degree of Sport Management from Loughborough University. Managing Director Asia-Pacific and Co-Tournament Director Women's Tennis Association (WTA) The 48 year-old from France re-joined the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) in July 2018 taking on the new role of Managing Director Asia-Pacific and Co-Tournament Director of the WTA Finals to be held in Shenzhen, China from 2019 for the next 10 years. Since 2014, Chouquet has been acting as the Octagon International Consultant and Co-Tournament Director for the Wuhan Open, he has spent the last five years working with the Wuhan Municipal Government and local promoters WSDI on the organization of this WTA Premier 5 event. In 2016, Chouquet had joined APG, a Sports and Marketing Agency as Chief Operating Officer while keeping his role in Wuhan. Chouquet has been a Tour Supervisor for the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) for 12 years from 2004 to 2015, traveling around the world to supervise and advice events on the WTA calendar. Chouquet spent two years in 2010 and 2011 based in Beijing to lead the WTA regional office. Before that, Chouquet worked 7 year for the French Tennis Federation out of their Paris headquarters as Head of the Officiating Department and Assistant Referee of Roland-Garros - French Open. Chouquet’s background includes being a Professional Chair Umpire for the International Tennis Federation working at Grand Slams, Davis Cup and Fed Cup from 1993 to 1996. He also worked as Chair Umpire for ATP and WTA events, and was a court official at the Olympics in Barcelona in 1992. Chouquet was born in Normandy, lived in Paris and in Aix-en-Provence, France, and more recently in Taipei City before relocating to Hong Kong in 2018 with his wife Carolyn and his 14-year old daughter Maxine. Global Marketing Lead, Brand Partnerships & Sponsorships Bose Originally from Australia, Ian McGibbon has 20+ years global strategy, sponsorships, marketing and communications experience across diverse B2C and B2B industries such as consumer electronics, energy and retail within leading companies Bose, Shell and Westfield. Over the last few years in his role at Bose, Ian has been part of small but creative team global that has driven the strategy and activation for brand partnerships, sponsorships and talent agreements across properties that resonate with target audiences in sport, music, travel and culture to support business goals and marketing objectives. Current major partnerships include Mercedes-AMG Motorsport (F1) Team and National Football League (NFL). A major factor for success with partnerships/sponsorships for Bose is the close connection with the internal marketing insights team to thoroughly understand the impact / return on investment of activations and make adjustments to tactical plans and overall contract where needed. Based in Basel, Switzerland, Ian spends significant time travelling for both work and leisure, but finds time to compete in cycling and triathlon events during the year. Born in Brighton and educated at Lancing College, Martin gained a BSc in Production Engineering and Economics from the University of Birmingham. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in London before following a career in investment banking, first with Salomon Brothers International in London and Hong Kong, becoming Chief Financial Officer in Asia and then Europe. In 1998, he joined Deutsche Bank and held a number of senior executive roles including Global Head of Deutsche Bank’s Investment Banking Operations and in 2007, Global Head of Global Business Services. He is a keen golfer and a member of Worplesdon Golf Club in Surrey, playing to a handicap of two. Founder Business Of Sport Network Melvin Byres is the Founder of the Business Of Sport Network, a networking club for those working on the commercial side of sport, which currently consists of 1000+ members across Hong Kong and Singapore. Melvin is also the Founder of MSB Concepts, a sports agency specialising in consulting and event management for sports events, projects to date including the Hong Kong Sevens, Volvo Ocean Race, Formula E and the Premier League Asia Trophy. Prior to starting BOSN and MSB Concepts Melvin spent four years at the Hong Kong Rugby Union, with the most recent role being Head of Sponsorship, Events & Strategy. Excutive Vice President AEG Asia With over 20 years in the China market, Mike has actively participated in the growth and development of the sports and entertainment industry in modern China. A versatile and entrepreneurial business executive, Mike’s experience includes working with operating and monetizing venues, developing strategic partnerships, creating branded marketing platforms,v and delivering dynamic live events. As part of the AEG Asia Executive Team, Mike takes the lead role in managing AEG China. Co-Founder and President Culture Group Michael Patent is the Co-Founder and President of Culture Group, a pan-Asian entertainment marketing agency with offices in Bangkok, Manila and Shanghai. He is an entertainment and brand marketing executive with a fifteen-year history of developing creative partnerships at the intersection of culture and content. With the belief that brands should ‘create culture, not rent media’, the agency works alongside clients to leverage the power of passion points including gaming, music, sports, K-Pop, food, fashion and design. Clients include Globe Telecom, for whom they serve as entertainment marketing agency of record, as well Tencent, Riot Games, and artist management firm Roc Nation. Chief Rugby Officer New Zealand Rugby / All Blacks Originally from the Bay of Plenty - New Zealand Nigel Cass has been involved with rugby for a significant period, first as a senior staff member of New Zealand Rugby from 2001 to 2007 - including the chairmanship of the Wellington International Sevens - and then as General Manager Tournament Services for Rugby New Zealand 2011 until early 2012. He previously worked at the Hilary Commission with responsibility for Local Government Liaison and Active Living and managed the development and roll out of the “Push Play” campaign. Nigel re-joined New Zealand Rugby in the new position of General Manager Strategic Relationships and Planning in May 2012 and has recently been appointed into the newly created position of Chief Rugby Officer. General Manager MYLAPS Asia Pacific Raymond has been in the sports industry for more than 12 years. He joined MYLAPS as an incubator of the European Space Agency and was involved in the early development of a GPS Tracking device for sports. Due to his involvement in a number of major marathons like Amsterdam Marathon, Paris Marathon, and Hong Kong Marathon, he became the MYLAPS Market Specialist for Active Mass Sports in 2011. He has more than 25 years of experience in sports event management, sales, and marketing with a strong focus in media rights and market strategy. His previous work experience in China includes driving a Chinese media joint venture partnership responsible for launching China’s first nationwide HD sports channel; and founding The Young Company, which provided consulting services in production, distribution and media rights in China for leading sports leagues, broadcasters and commercial sponsors. Prior to living in China, Richard worked at ESPN STAR Sports as Vice President of the Event Management Group and Programming Development, where he managed over 100 events in 13 different countries over 8 years across Asia. His management experience also includes a number of years in Taipei managing Sports International, Entertainment Plus Ltd when it was the largest professional sports management group in Taiwan. Richard has managed over 150 professional tournaments in 10 different sports throughout his career. Richard was a student at Beijing Normal University in 1990. After graduating Cum Laude from Boston University with a double major in International Relations and East Asian Studies, Richard earned his MBA from the University of Chicago. He speaks, reads and writes Mandarin Chinese. A native of Sedona, Arizona, Richard currently resides in Shanghai with his wife and two children. CEO Hong Kong Rugby Union Having joined the Union in 2003, Robbie McRobbie is responsible for the Commercial Department, Operations Department and the Community Foundation. Prior to the Union, he spent 11 years in the Hong Kong Police Force, where he served in a number of roles including Police Tactical Unit Instructor, Assistant Manager of the Police Officers' Club and presenter of the "Police Report" TV show. He has a MA (Oxon) and completed a PGC in Sports & Recreation Management at HKU Space in 2001. He represented Hong Kong at "A" level at both 15s and 7s and is a two-time winner of the Police RFC "Raz Erasmus Award". He is Director of local charity, Operation Breakthrough, which uses sport as a medium to help at-risk local youngsters. Mr. McRobbie is married with one son and a small dog. He currently focusses on developing a clear media strategy for top sports organisations and brands, and defines high-level opportunities to partner with powerful media organizations, such as Tencent, Weibo, and iQiyi.
